Adam LaRoche feeling ‘much better,’ remains out of the Nationals lineup

First baseman Adam LaRoche said his stiff back feels “much better” today, and he was actually surprised how good he felt when he woke up. Still, he’ll miss his second straight game in favor of Chad Tracy, which will give LaRoche three full days, including Monday’s off day, to rest his back.

Even after Wilson Ramos’s two-homer day yesterday, Davey Johnson is sticking with his plan to rotate Ramos and Kurt Suzuki every other day. Stephen Strasburg will face Johnny Cueto, which, as Jayson Werth said, “is why people to pay to see us play.” The Reds stacked their lineup with four left-handed batters in the first five spots.
