Nationals-Mets discussion thread: Game 18

(Jonathan Newton/The Washington Post)

The Nationals will try to take their series from the Mets today behind Jordan Zimmermann, one of the Nationals’ very best players in the season’s first three weeks. Yesterday, Craig Stammen touched on the importance of not letting the Mets take an early edge. “It’s always big to win games in your division, just for the mentality, because you play them so many times,” Stammen said. “The thing about losing three games to the Braves, now they feel good about facing us. If we do the same to the Mets, now we got people we play all the time feeling pretty good about facing us. If we win those games, it puts it in the back of their head it’s going to be a dogfight.”

Talk about the game right here.
