Following Wednesday’s game, Manager Davey Johnson said he wanted to move Ian Desmond back to the sixth hole, his normal spot on the lineup. Johnson hit Desmond second for the past four games while Jayson Werth has been out dealing with a tight hamstring. Werth is out of the lineup again. Johnson also wanted to start Roger Bernadina, who is 3 for 29 and started only four games. Also, after tossing 34 pitches a┬álaborious eighth inning on Wednesday, Tyler Clippard is unavailable in the series finale against the Tigers.
