Tonight’s Nationals-Giants lineups

Stephen Strasburg will take the ball tonight at AT&T Park, and the Nationals will ask him to do what aces do: stop a losing streak and snap them out of a rotten spell. The Nationals have been outscored by 17 runs over their past two games. It’s up to Strasburg to stop the bleeding. He’ll face Matt Cain in a duel of two aces, even if Cain has a 5.43 ERA.

There is some significant news in the Nationals’ minor league system. Left-handed pitching prospect Sammy Solis, who underwent Tommy John surgery in February 2012, will make his first start of the season tonight at Class A Potomac. The Nationals drafted Solis in the second round in 2010 and view him as a significant part of their future. In 2011, at low-A Hagerstown and Potomac, Solis went 8-3 with a 3.26 ERA.
