As part of Major League Baseball-wide effort to raise money for cancer research, the Nationals are auctioning off a school visit by Bryce Harper and Anthony Rendon. The bidding for the visit opened on Monday morning and began at $1,000. The bidding closes at 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 12. The winning bid will have Harper and Rendon visit the school for a pizza lunch and and kids only question-and-answer period.

The Nationals are also auctioning off a chance to join the team’s grounds crew for the day. The bidding also opened on Monday morning and closes at 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 12. The opening bid is for $500. The winner of this package and three guests will watch batting practice from the field. The winner will also spend the hour before the game with the grounds crew and until the fourth inning.

The money raised for both items will benefit the Stand Up To Cancer initiative. It’s a worthy cause.
