The Nationals will carry their full roster on their last two road trips Wednesday and Thursday. Today, Ryan Zimmerman, Ian Desmond, Bryce Harper and Jayson Werth stayed back in Viera after making the trip to Viera yesterday. So did Anthony Rendon, still recovering from a chest cold that required antibiotics.

Taylor Jordan will make his final start of spring today, his last chance to make his case for the fifth starter spot. Manager Matt Williams has said he cannot envision performance this late deciding the competition. But the Nationals have not chosen between Tanner Roark and Jordan.

“I’m telling them nothing,” pitching coach Steve McCatty said. “You’re throwing the ball great. Keep doing it. What can you say? What can you do? The decision hasn’t been made. Keep going out there.”

“It’s still fluid right now,” Williams said. “Tanner made a really good case, but then again, so has Taylor. I want to see him pitch again. As of right now, my mind’s not made up.”
