Nationals-Cardinals discussion thread: Game 17

After a brutal 8-0 loss to the Cardinals on Thursday, the Nationals have the second-worst ERA among starters in baseball at 5.21. Only the Diamondbacks are worse — and considerably worse, at 7.63 ERA. The Braves, on the other hand, without Brandon Beachy, Kris Medlen and Gavin Floyd, lead the majors with a 1.58 starters ERA. Gio Gonzalez takes the mound after a clunker against the Braves in Atlanta on Sunday. Despite that game, he still leads the Nationals starters with a 3.50 ERA. The lineups are here.
