The Nationals face another left-handed starter, this time Robbie Erlin on Friday night. They hope to rebound from Thursday’s head-scratching performance in which they had 18 baserunners, including 16 hits, and scored only three runs because they went 0 for 16 with runners in scoring position. They are using the same lineup.

Jose Lobaton is starting the day after catching all 12 innings. Stephen Strasburg starts for the Nationals.

In minor leagues news, left-handed reliever Michael Gonzalez was added to Class AAA Syracuse’s roster and right-handed reliever Christian Garcia was placed on the disabled list with a sore shoulder.
