After missing 34 games with a lat strain, Doug Fister makes his Nationals and season debut against the Athletics. The Nationals’ prized offseason acquisition faces a team he knows from his days in the American League. In 12 career regular season starts against the Athletics, Fister has gone 5-5 with a 3.17 ERA. Last year in the American League Division Series, he helped his former team, the Detroit Tigers, come back by allowing three runs over six innings in Game 4. The lineups are here.
