A beautiful ballpark, the National League’s two hottest — and best, by run differential — teams, an ace on the mound: June baseball does not get much better than tonight’s game between the Nationals and Giants. The only thing missing is Anthony Rendon, who will sit for the third game in a row since Carlos Quentin’s smash to third base nailed his right hand.

Manager Matt Williams said Sunday he was hopeful Rendon would play Monday, and Rendon took batting practice Sunday morning. But he’ll rest at least one more day. As with the previous two games, Kevin Frandsen will play third and bat second.

Stephen Strasburg faces Ryan Vogelsong, who’s punched up a 2.05 ERA in his last eight starts.
