The Nationals play two games at Wrigley Field on Saturday and then get an unusual Sunday off-day as a result. Jayson Werth and Danny Espinosa are resting the first game while Ian Desmond is playing. Manager Matt Williams has said he wants to rest Desmond, so he could swap him out for Espinosa at shortstop in the second game.

Kevin Frandsen is at second base instead and Nate McLouth in right. Gio Gonzalez starts the first game and Blake Treinen will take the mound for the second one.

The Nationals also made several expected moves official: Treinen was recalled as the 26th man for the second game, Taylor Hill was optioned to Class AAA Syracuse and left-handed reliever Xavier Cedeno is here from Syracuse.
