Jayson Werth is again out of the Nationals lineup, as was mostly expected. Even though Matt Williams hoped he would return on Sunday, Werth’s right shoulder was sore after he took a full round of batting practice on Saturday. Throwing doesn’t appear to bug Werth as much as hitting.

Werth is out of the starting lineup for the eighth time in the past nine games. Michael A. Taylor is back in the lineup and in right field. The Nationals are being cautious with Werth and, if he feels better after Sunday’s batting practice, could perhaps play on Monday.

Williams doesn’t meet with reporters before Sunday games so more on Werth to come after the game. Werth had not tested out his shoulder yet before the game when approached by a reporter.
