BPA banned from plastic baby bottles in China

A roundup of news and advice:

China has banned the use of bisphenol A in plastic baby bottles. The chemical has been linked to several diseases such as diabetes and breast cancer. Canada, the European Union and the United Arab Emirates also enforce this ban.(Consumer Reports)

Children whose parents are divorced receive less financial assistance for college from their parents, a new study says. Divorced parents met 42 percent of their child’s financial needs while parents who stayed together met 77 percent of the cost. (Wall Street Journal)

How smart are your kid’s tutors? Gwenyth Paltrow is looking for a tutor for her two children who can teach ancient Greek, Latin, French and Spanish, and play two instruments, among other skills. (New York Post)
