Has anyone had the experience of reading a novel and thinking the author has got your life pegged?

Momspeak columnist Tracy Grant has that feeling every time she reads a book in the genre of domestic thriller, such as “Defending Jacob” by William Landay.

She writes: “They take recognizable characters in seemingly ordinary lives and with one misstep, one twist of fate, these everyman characters are hurled into a vortex of unspeakable circumstance.”
