Mom Proms let parents be teens for one night of dancing and fun

Prom isn’t just for teens. Mothers are hosting these dressy affairs for themselves to relive their youth, take a break from parenting and raise money for a good cause. The first Mom Prom was held in 2006 by a Michigan mother, but it’s becoming a nationwide trend. (TODAYMoms)

The number of kids in the U.S. is declining. Since 2000, 95 percent of U.S. counties have had a drop in the the number of residents less than 18 years old, according to a USA Today analysis. The paper examines how one Pennsylvania town adjusts to having less children in its neighborhoods. (USA Today)

Rising fourth grader Bobby Bradley will fly a hot-air balloon solo across the New Mexico dessert tomorrow. If the 9-year-old succeeds, he will be the youngest pilot to have flown an ultralight hot air balloon. (Babble)
