Parents don’t like grown son’s girlfriend

From elsewhere in The Post: A recent college graduate moved in with his parents, but a rocky relationship with his girlfriend makes it hard to live at home. A sudden engagement followed by cancelled wedding plans has left his father cold to the relationship.

“I don’t mind her — she’s polite to me — but my husband still seriously dislikes her. The few times that she has been to our house with our son I’ve felt caught in the middle because my husband hates having someone visit whom he doesn’t respect. What do I do?” writes the son’s mother in a letter to advice columnist Marguerite Kelly.

Kelly tells this mom why it’s best to stay out of her son’s love life.
