Raising a generation of children on yoga

Today’s kids are more familiar with yoga than past generations, as Vicky Hallett writes in this week’s MisFits column in The Post’s Local Living section:
Charles Tellier positions his 7-year-old daughter, Lucie, onto the back of wife Sophie during a Family Yoga class at the Budding Yogis studio in Northwest Washington. (Sarah L. Voisin - The Washington Post)

“These children are part of the yoga generation, a cohort of kids who beg for downward-facing dogs. Whether or not their parents practice, they’re exposed to it through TV, friends and school.”

DC Yoga Week starts Sunday, and there are plenty of events for little ones. Check out the column’s sidebar to find out how kids can participate in Yoga on the Mall and other child-focused classes year-round. (The MisFits)
