As public-school budgets are cut across the country, parents are being asked to foot the bill for more activities and classes. One Ohio family recently spent $4,446.50 to send their children to public schools, and registration at an Overland Park, Kan., school costs $221, plus $150 per sport. (Wall Street Journal)
