Credit score gap widening between whites and blacks: Black Americans have disproportionately fallen victim to foreclosures stemming from subprime mortgages in recent years, and as a result, many fear that the persistent gap in the credit scores of whites and blacks is growing larger, further hurting the latter’s ability to secure loans.
Unemployment rate holds steady:The national unemployment rate remained at 8.2 percent last month, according to the latest data released by the Labor Department; and while small businesses have traditionally been considered a consistent job engine, data suggests their slowed hiring efforts are starting to contribute to the persistently high rates.

Small business votes still up for grabs: One in seven small business owners have yet to decide who they’ll vote for in the upcoming presidential election, according to a new poll by MerchantCircle.com. The most pressing concerns for those business owners is currently the economy and job creation.
Internet outings coming Monday: The Federal Bureau of Investigation will on Monday take down a number of servers it set up to help those infected with a computer virus, leaving hundreds of thousands of people without access to the web.
