Protests protested near Wall Street: Business owners and neighbors of the Zuccotti park protesters in New York City scheduled their own counter-protest against the ongoing demonstrations on Monday night. Evidently, business owners have had quite enough of the noise and mess Occupy Wall Street protesters have brought to their doorsteps.

NFIB’s Obamacare challenge reaches Supreme Court: The nation’s highest court will consider a trip of challenges to the president’s health-care overhaul, one of which comes directly from the National Federation of Independent Business. Karen Harned, one of the group’s top legal executives, said the law presents problems of both a principle and practical nature to small business owners.

Commerce Department released retail figures: The department on Tuesday released retail sales data for October, giving businesses the first indication of how much consumers spent as the final quarter of the year got underway. Retail and food services sales for October increased 0.5 percent from the previous month and 7.2 percent from October 2010.
