What’s going ‘on’:

Romney taps Ryan: Mitt Romney this past weekend announced seven-term Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) as his running mate in the upcoming election. Ryan heads the House Budget Committee and serves on the House Ways and Means Committee. Here’s a look at who won and lost in the selection, the Democratic response, as well as how the pick has already shook up the election.

DC tech sector expanding, but hurdles remain: Washington’s tech scene has expanded in recent years to include more young ventures specializing in previously foreign sectors like e-commerce, eneragy and education. However, the region still lacks some of the core components of the start-up ecosystems that have already taken hold in places like Silicon Valley and New York.
