Perino named to post at Crown Forum

Former White House press secretary Dana Perino has been named editorial director of Crown Forum, the conservative books imprint at the Crown Publishing Group. Perino, a communications strategist and Fox News contributor, served in the administration of George W. Bush.

She will be responsible for bringing in six to eight nonfiction books a year by conservative political or media personalities. She’ll also be involved in promoting some Crown Forum books, including a work by Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer scheduled to be released ahead of the 2012 presidential election. Crown Forum authors have included Ann Coulter, Charles Murray, Patrick J. Buchanan and Catherine Herridge.

Perino was a communications strategist for Crown's “Decision Points,” Bush’s memoir, and for Scribner’s “Spoken from the Heart,” a memoir by Laura Bush.

Steven Levingston is the nonfiction editor of The Washington Post. He is author of “Little Demon in the City of Light: A True Story of Murder and Mesmerism in Belle Époque Paris” (Doubleday, 2014) and “The Kennedy Baby: The Loss that Transformed JFK” (Washington Post eBook, 2013).
