Economic agenda: Thursday, April 21, 2011

At 8:30 a.m. — The Labor Department releases weekly data on claims for unemployment insurance benefits. The number of people filing for benefits is expected to edge down to 390,000, from 412,000 last week..

At 10 a.m. — The Federal Housing Finance Agency releases data on home prices. Analysts expect the FHFA index to show a 0.2 percent decline in national home prices in February, on the heels of a 0.3 percent decline in January.

At 10 a.m. — The Conference Board releases its index on leading indicators for March.
