At 10 a.m. — The Senate banking committee holds a hearing on “The Administration’s Report to Congress: Reforming America’s Housing Finance Market.” Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and the HUD’s Shaun Donovan are scheduled to testify.
At 2:15 p.m. — The Federal Reserve releases its policy statement. The central bank is likely to keep its target interest rate near zero and continue with its plans to buy $75 billion in Treasury bonds a month through June. The Fed will probably acknowledge the rise in oil prices.
