This was a week of coming out. On Monday, Mitt Romney’s campaign came out in favor of the health care mandate being a penalty rather than a tax. Later that day, conservatives and Republicans across the country came out against Romney’s coming out. By Wednesday, the man himself came out in favor of the health care mandate as a tax on the middle class. Yes, I know. It’s all very confusing.
Meanwhile, Katie Holmes came out — of her marriage to Tom Cruise. This had folks around the world saying in unison, “What took you so long?” Anderson Cooper came out — as gay. This blessedly took no one by surprise. And someone else came out — as no longer being conservative. I’d tell you who it is if it didn’t mean giving away one of the answers on this week’s p-Op quiz.
