You know, this was a fun week. The Republican Party released a state-of-the-party assessment that read like a coroner’s report. The assault weapons bill got dropped from a gun violence bill making its way to the Senate floor for a vote. Another major Democrat came out for same-sex marriage. And a government shutdown was averted thanks to passage of a continuing resolution to keep the lights on for a little while longer.

President Obama made Israel the first foreign trip of his second term. Vice President Biden became the fourth to visit New York City’s City Hall. He was there to talk guns with Mayor Bloomberg. But that was after Biden went to the Vatican for the installation of Pope Francis. Oh, and Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Tx.) said on Twitter, “The best thing about the Earth is if you poke holes in it oil and gas come out.”

You don’t have to be a fossil-fuel hunter to take this week’s p-Op quiz. So, sharpen your pixels and get crackin’.
