Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) challenged Vice President Biden to a debate on gun violence at the National Rifle Association Leadership Forum in Houston.

“If he believes the answer to violent crime is not prosecuting felons and fugitives, not prosecuting gun crimes but going after the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens,” said Cruz, “I would like to invite the vice president to engage in an hour-long conversation and debate.”

That’s quite the intriguing offer. The spectacle would be must-see TV. How many times would Biden say, “Malarkey”? How long would Cruz spend lecturing Biden? Imagine the drinking games. But it’ll never happen since the vice president doesn’t believe any of the things the irritating freshman senator said.
