It’s worth watching Jon Stewart, host of “The Daily Show,” pull the rug out from under House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). Maybe it wasn’t an ambush. Maybe Stewart thought Pelosi was engaged, informed and could hold her own. Otherwise, one might think “The Daily Show” had reached new depths of cruelty.

The word blithering comes to mind, but I won’t use it.

Since Republicans constantly take hits for allegedly following talking points and lacking intellectual heft, Pelosi’s performance deserves extra attention, with no extra commentary from me lest I be accused of piling on.  Tune in.
