Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) is the second richest member of the U.S. House of Representatives with wealth ranging between $70 million and $326 million. Not only that, he is openly gay. Anyone who thought wealth plus being gay equaled a fab fashion sense hasn’t set eyes on Polis.

Polis is a lovely man, but his apparel choices have always left me with one reaction: “Dayum!” Last week, two photos popped up that illustrate just how far Polis’s crimes against fashion go.

So bad are Polis’s apparel choices that men’s fashion mag GQ offered to help him. The three-term congressman was wise to accept.

Polis communications director Scott Overland told me, “Congressman Polis is looking forward to working with GQ, the definitive experts in men’s fashion, to develop a style for him that embodies the creativity and spirit of Colorado’s 2nd Congressional district, while respecting the rules and traditions of the House.”

Great! I can’t wait to see what they come up with.
