Bella Santorum hospitalized

Rick Santorum’s three-year-old daughter Bella has been hospitalized, according to a statement issued by the campaign Friday morning.

The severity of her condition has not been disclosed. Bella Santorum has Trisomy 18, a rare and serious genetic disorder.

Here is the full statement from the campaign:

The Rick Santorum for President campaign has issued the following statement on the health of Isabella Santorum.
Hogan Gidley, National Communications Director, said: “Rick and his wife Karen have taken their daughter Bella to the hospital. The family requests prayers and privacy as Bella works her way to recovery.”

Santorum canceled a slate of campaign events in January when Bella was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. Karen Santorumcares for the couple’s youngest daughter full-time at home while her husband campaigns.

Rick Santorum described Bella’s condition and his decision to run for the GOP nomination to Melinda Henneberger in November.
