Nikki Haley to campaign for Mitt Romney in Pennsylvania

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) will campaign for Mitt Romney in Pennsylvania, the Romney camp announced Thursday.

(AP Photo/Rainier Ehrhardt)Haley will visit Camp Hill, Pa., Friday to address the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference, an annual conservative summit, on Romney’s behalf.

Former House speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) and former senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) will be “featured speakers” at the event. Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) sought to send a surrogate to the event, but his request was denied because the surrogate was not at the governor or senator level, the York Dispatch reported.

Haley, who won office in the 2010 tea party sweep, campaigned with Romney earlier this year in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Pennsylvania holds its primary on April 24.
