There’s relief among some Republicans that Tropical Storm Isaac prevented Donald Trump for pulling off a “surprise” on the convention floor Monday night. But Trump spokesman Michael Cohen tells the Post we’re seriously missing out: the canceled event would have been “multilayered” and “amazing.”
Trump himself doesn’t mind skipping Tampa, Cohen explains, because it just brings more attention to his acceptance of a “Statesman of the Year” award from the Sarasota Republican Party — “all the reporters” will be there.
