Artur Davis’s rightward drift

Former congressman Artur Davis (D-Ala.) only recently became a Republican.

But he's been drifting to the right for a while now.

Below are Davis's National Journal vote ratings between 2003 and 2010, with a 100 rating being the most liberal member of Congress and zero being the most conservative.

2003 – 67 percent
2004 – 63.7 percent
2005 – 61 percent
2006 – 60 percent
2007 – 61.3 percent
2008 – 55 percent
2009 – 47 percent
2010 – 57.7 percent

Davis's tenure in Congress ended when he ran for governor in 2010. During the primary, Davis ran as a conservative Democrat and lost badly after African-American leaders deserted him.
