The AP reports that Mitt Romney is considering a trip to the northern Gulf Coast following Hurricane Isaac, which is now battering the area.

The GOP presidential candidate sent a tweet Wednesday morning asking followers to support the relief effort by donating to the Red Cross. Romney's campaign is in touch with the Red Cross, the National Weather Service and governors in the region.
