Paul Ryan: Dem platform’s lack of God ‘peculiar’

In an interview with Fox News this morning, Republican vice presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan (Wisc.) dismissed Democratic attacks in Charlotte against him and Mitt Romney as a sign the president lacks a record he can tout.

"They don't have a record they can run on, so hope and change become attack and blame," Ryan said.

Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) will play the part of Ryan in Vice President Biden's debate preparation sessions. Who will stand in for Biden when Ryan does his own preparations?

"We'll be announcing that shortly," Ryan said, without disclosing any more details.

Ryan also criticized the Democratic Party platform for omitting the word "God," and not affirming Jerusalem as the capital of Israel

"I think it's rather peculiar. It's not in keeping with our founding documents," Ryan said of the choice not to include the word "God."
