Obama interview with Miami DJ airs on Sept. 11

September 11, 2012

Did President Obama really talk football and hip hop music with a Miami radio personality who calls himself "Pimp the Limp" DJ Laz on Tuesday morning?

ABC News' Devin Dwyer reports that the Miami Herald was indignant, writing that Obama  “avoided talking about 9/11 on 9/11′s anniversary, but made time to mock the Dolphins bad record.” Some Republicans circulated the link to the newspaper's article, suggesting the president was disrespectful.

"It turns out, however, that President Obama was not speaking live," Dwyer writes on the Political Punch blog. "The interview had been pre-taped and was supposed to air on Monday, an Obama campaign official told ABC News."

The station did not explain why the interview was held until Tuesday.
