Romney uses Marco Rubio in ad

September 20, 2012

Mitt Romney, "The Least We Can Do"

What it says: "Anyone who wants to leave Medicare like it is, is for letting it go bankrupt. My mother’s 81 and depends on Medicare."

What it means: Romney is using Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) in a paid ad for the first time, suggesting he will be a bigger campaign surrogate going forward. Romney is also putting out an emotional defense of Medicare reform, the campaign focus for the next couple days.

Who will see it: The ad is already airing in Florida; no word on other buys.
