Well, not everyone. But distrust of the media is at an all-time high, Gallup reports.
The downward trend is driven by Republicans and independents. While independent trust of the media has been declining since 2004 to the current 31 percent, Republican opinion has gone up and down in the past decade before hitting an all-time low of 26 percent. Democrats are far more likely to trust the press, at 58 percent.
But while Republicans are least likely to trust the news, they're the most likely to pay attention to it. Forty-eight percent of GOPers are paying close attention to national political news, compared to 39 percent of Democrats and 33 percent of Republicans. That's not a new phenomenon -- a 2007 study found similar results.
