Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.), “Got Caught”
What it says: “Professor Warren got caught in a lie,” says one speaker. “Harvard thought that Elizabeth Warren was a minority because she said so,” says another.
What it means: The ad is Brown’s second focused on Elizabeth Warren’s claim to Native American heritage and whether it gave her a professional advantage. (And it comes after some of Brown’s staffers were chastised for what a Cherokee Nation leader called “offensive and racist” behavior.) Clearly Brown sees the attack as a way to pull ahead in this tight race, even if it goes against his “nice guy” image.
