Romney: I won’t cut education spending

Romney said he would not cut education spending, the first time he has made that assertion in the campaign. It runs counter to the Ryan plan and also seems to contradict Romney's statements during a private gathering of donors in April when he said he would either shrink the Department of Education or consolidate it with another agency, according to NBC News and the Wall Street Journal.
