Paul Ryan gets personal on abortion (video)

Many viewers at home probably just learned something new about Paul Ryan's personal life: His eldest daughter Liza is nicknamed "Bean."

He revealed that tidbit in response to a question about how his Catholic beliefs have shaped his views on abortion. He said he and his wife noticed that their first daughter looked like a bean during their first ultrasound. And the nickname has stuck.

It was another humanizing moment for a guy who wasn't terribly well known by the public before he was named to the ticket by Mitt Romney.

Biden, a fellow Catholic, responded to the same question by saying that he accepts the church's position on abortion for himself but not for others. “I accept my church’s position on abortion," he said. "I accept it in my personal life. But I refuse to impose it on equally devout Christians and Muslims and Jews, and I just refuse to impose that on others, unlike my friend here.”
