CNN Poll: Dead heat in Florida

A new CNN poll finds a dead heat in Florida, with Mitt Romney at 49 percent and President Obama at 48 percent among likely voters.

The last time CNN polled Florida was before both conventions. At that point, Obama had the edge, 50 to 46 percent.

The president has no substantial lead with women voters in the survey; instead the main divides are along income and age. Younger and lower-income voters break overwhelmingly for Obama; older and higher-income voters favor Romney.

Among registered voters, Obama is ahead 50 to 43 percent.

Most polls show the race in Florida neck-and-neck, although a Miami Herald poll taken earlier this month had Romney up 7 points. Both campaigns have converged on Florida this weekend in hopes of gaining advantage in the state.
