Obama beats Romney in poll of kids who can’t vote

President Obama trounced Mitt Romney in the Nickelodeon "Kids Pick the President" vote, earning 65 percent of the 520,000 online votes cast earlier this month.

Obama also won the most votes from those too young to actually vote in 2008. Since it began in 1988, the winner of the competition has matched the eventual outcome all but once: Sen. John Kerry (D) won in 2004.

As part of the event, presidential candidates are invited each election cycle to answer questions submitted by kids. Obama answered some of their questions in a special that aired last week, while Romney declined, citing scheduling conflicts.
