Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign has received a last-minute cash infusion from former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who has had a somewhat uneasy relationship with the current GOP standard-bearer.
Palin’s political-action committee, Sarah PAC, gave $5,000 to the Republican nominee’s campaign on Wednesday, according to a new filing with the Federal Election Commission.
Palin has been a prominent critic of President Obama from her perch as a Fox News analyst, but she has steered clear direct involvement in Romney’s campaign.
The former Alaska governor energized conservatives as Sen. John McCain’s running mate in 2008 and toyed with the idea of launching her own presidential bid this time around. She has had somewhat frosty relations with the Romney campaign, which did not give Palin a speaking slot at the GOP convention in Tampa.
