Getting out the vote with GIFs

A Tumblr appropriately named #GoVote is leading a small virtual movement to get out the vote through art. The blog collected more than 100 election-day images, from Post-It note scribbles to watercolors, to encourage people to vote today.

#GoVote is hardly the only site plugging patriotism through art. A typographic poster reading only "Tumblr, actually vote tho" has been posted more than 45,000 times -- including, very recently, by the Obama campaign. And the day wouldn't be complete without gifs. It's too early to say for sure, but this animation of a dancing Aaliyah with an "I voted" sticker might be a frontrunner for best gif of the day.
