Exit polls: Colorado may legalize pot

Pot prevails? Exit polls and early returns projections suggest Colorado will approve Amendment 64, which legalizes growth and possession of small amounts of marijuana for recreational use.

That would make Colorado the first state to go so far, although Washington and Oregon have similar measures on the ballot today.

Pro-pot supporters cast the issue as an economic one, and the measure stipulates that some of the taxes collected on marijuana sold as specially licensed retail outlets would be earmarked for school funding.
