Obama has victory, concession speeches ready

As of about 6 p.m. Eastern, Mitt Romney said he had only one speech prepared -- and it wasn't a concession.

“I just finished writing a victory speech,” he told reporters aboard his plane. “It’s about 1,118 words." He would keep working on it, he said, "but I've only written one speech at this point.”

President Obama has prepared for both a win and a loss.

“You always have two speeches prepared because you can’t take anything for granted,” the president told Denver's FOX31, in one of several swing state television interviews. “It is an extraordinary privilege to serve the people, whatever the office. I have served as a state senator, a U.S. senator and now as the president. And each and every time I've been reminded that it is the people where power ultimately resides. And I’m their representative, I’m their servant.”
