President Obama doing TV interviews today

CHICAGO – President Obama is waking up to Election Day in his Hyde Park home with his family by his side.

The president, joined by first lady Michelle Obama, flew into his home town in the wee hours Tuesday morning after a final rally in Des Moines. Daughters Malia and Sasha also are here with them.

Obama is scheduled to participate in a series of radio and television interviews, some of them regionally focused in swing states. And he is expected to play in his traditional Election Day basketball game with former personal aide Reggie Love and several Chicago pals.

As the election results come in, Obama will watch with his family, then head to McCormick Place’s Lakeside Center late into the night to celebrate – or commiserate – with supporters.

Though nothing else is on his public schedule, it is also possible that he will make an unannounced stop at his Chicago campaign headquarters.

After giving his final speech, the president stopped in the press cabin aboard Air Force One en route to Chicago, but his remarks were off the record and not included in a pool report of the encounter.
