Obama gets feted on Air Force One

President Obama got rewarded by his own Air Force One pilot Wednesday on the trip home from Chicago to Washington a day after his re-election win.

Col. Scott Turner and crew members brought the president a sheet cake to celebration. As they posed for pictures, press secretary Jay Carney said, Obama wondered aloud: “There is someone flying this plane, right?”

Obama was joined on the flight home by first lady Michelle and their daughters, Malia and Sasha, that latter of whom was sporting pink-and-white sneakers. Walking from the helicopters that brought them to the Chicago airport to board Air Force One, Obama put his arm around Sasha.

As they approached the steps to board the plane, the two raced up, with Sasha edging her dad by a hair, according to a reporter at the scene.
