George P. Bush files election papers

George P. Bush has filed a campaign treasurer appointment in Texas, one of the requirements for anyone seeking state-wide elected office there, igniting questions about which office he may seek. 

Bush is the nephew and grandson of the former presidents and the son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. He's also has strong ties to Hispanics in Florida and Texas -- his mother, Columba is Mexican-American -- and his filing comes as many Republicans are lamenting the boost Hispanics gave President Obama in his win over Mitt Romney. 

John McCain's 2008 National Hispanic co-chair Ana Navarro tweeted this on Thursday:

 

Bush is the co-founder of Hispanic Republicans of Texas, an attorney and real-estate investor who served in the Naval Reserve.
